CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

MHS Book Ends will be meeting next Tuesday after school in the Info Hub. See you then!

The Food Pantry will have a distribution today after school in room D132.

COUNSELING CENTER

The Talent Link is hosting career tours for high school students in the surrounding areas. These tours include John Deere Harvester, Davenport Works, RI Arsenal, Tri City Electric, Plumbers and Pipefitters and many more. For more information on how to register, stop by the Counseling Center today.

Reminder for seniors to complete and submit scholarship applications and materials for Moline Foundation and Quad City Community Foundation! Applications are due this Saturday, February 15th.

MHS Local Scholarship just for MHS seniors:

Alex Hallene Memorial Scholarship - Open to MHS seniors attending the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in the fall of 2020. Applicants must demonstrate financial need. Deadline of April 1st. 

Bill Bishop Athletic Scholarship - Open to MHS seniors who have been involved in girls' or boys' basketball, baseball or softball. Applicants must be pursuing a bachelor's degree full-time and be in the top 1/3 of their class. Deadline of April 1st.  

Cyrus and Mildred Churchill Scholarship - $500 scholarship for MHS seniors who have high scholastic standing, are actively involved in MHS extracurricular activities, demonstrate financial need and possess a strong desire to advance his/her education. Deadline of April 1st.  

John "Jack" Cervantes Memorial Scholarship - $1,000 scholarship open to MHS seniors who demonstrate financial need and display the following characteristics: studious, capable and hardworking, well-rounded, dedicated to others, and serious about earning a university degree. Scholarship is renewable for three years. Immigrant students are encouraged to apply. Deadline of April 1st. 

Moline Booster Club Scholarship - Four $250 scholarships will be awarded to 2 MHS senior male students and 2 MHS senior female students. Applicants must be a student athlete and demonstrate volunteerism. Deadline of April 1st. 

Shirley Rosenberg Memorial Scholarship - Open to MHS seniors going into the field of education or a similar helping profession. Two scholarships will be awarded: one to a MHS senior male student and one a MHS senior female student in the amount of $500 each.  Deadline of April 1st.  

Application materials must be submitted to Ms. Stone in the Counseling Center. Visit the Counseling website for more information.

SPORTS

Attention: Girls interested in playing soccer this year will need to sign up outside of room E 301 before Friday, February 21st. Tryouts will begin March 2 at 3:30 in the Coolidge Gym. If you have any questions see Coach Schilb.

Attention anyone interested in trying out for baseball this spring:  There will be a brief meeting today after school in the East Gym regarding information for the upcoming season.

MISC

Tickets for the Sadie Hawkins dance are on sale in the bookstore for $10. The dance will be held from 7-10pm on Saturday, February 22nd at Wharton Field House. Please note that all guest forms need to be approved by today.

Attention all Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors:  You should have received a survey in an email with from the yearbook staff.  We hope that you will take a few minutes and answer the questions, so we can add your voices to this year's "M."  We appreciate your input.

Eat at Culver's on Monday night to support the Drama Club. No school on Monday, so celebrate President's Day with a trip to Culver's for dinner. Mention MHS Theatre and a portion of the proceeds go to help students compete at theatre festivals. See you at Culver's on Monday, anytime between 5-8pm.

Families are needed to host Rotary Foreign Exchange Students during the 2020-21 school year. Students and parents are invited to attend an informational presentation on Wednesday February 19th at 6:00pm in Room B131. This is an extraordinary opportunity for a Moline High School family to enhance your cultural awareness, and become lifetime friends with a student from another country.
