CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

Crimestoppers will be meeting today at 3:10 pm in the Cafeteria.  We will be taking our yearbook photo at the beginning of the meeting and all members are asked to attend.

Gamers Club is cancelled today.

Due to the weather forecast, Special Olympics Basketball Practice is cancelled today.

Attention Yearbook Staff:  Due to today's weather forecast, we will not be meeting after school.  We will be having work nights the rest of this week, so please come to as many days as you can.  We will meet in B226 each day after school.  If you have any questions, please see Ms. Hafner in B201 or send an email.  See you this week!

The Robotics Club will meet after school on Tuesday in Room D-125. We are preparing for next year, so new members are welcome to join.

Authentic Voices will be selling wooden roses outside the cafeteria during 4th period lunches today, tomorrow, and Wednesday.  Buy roses for someone special and have them delivered on Valentine's Day, Thursday February 14th.

COUNSELING CENTER

Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of all who threaten it!    If you are looking at joining the military, please sign up for the ASVAB test in the Counseling Center. The test will be on the 28th of this month. Any questions talk with Mr. Woods. 

SPORTS

Anyone interested in trying out for baseball, there will be a brief informational meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 12th after school in the West Gym.  Anyone interested in playing baseball this spring should attend.

Congratulations to the Moline wrestlers going 6 for 6 at the sectional tournament this past weekend, qualifying for this week's State tournament. Charlie Farmer 1st at 106, Andrew Burkeybile 4th at 120, Isaac Martinez 3rd at 132, Jayden Terronez 3rd at 152, DJ Parker 2nd at 170, and Cobie Underwood 4th at HWT. This is the most state qualifiers for the Maroons since 2000.  

MISC

The Moline Public Library’s Write Now! Writers group is open to teen and adult writers of all levels and genres. Join us tonight at 6:30 for a discussion about writing.

Last weekend the Moline High School Speech Team represented our school in the IHSA regional tournament at Monmouth-Roseville. The following students advanced to the Sectional tournament at Normal Community West High School.

Brooklynn Schell and Kira Roberts placed third in Dramatic Duet Acting.

Madison Crumbleholm placed fourth in Dramatic Interpretation.

Grant Jacobs placed third in Extemporaneous Speaking.

Amira Siddique and Legend Donaldson placed as tournament champions in Humorous Duet Acting.

Legend Donaldson placed first as tournament champion in Original Comedy.

Grant Jacobs placed fourth in Original Oratory.

Amira Siddique placed first as tournament champion in Poetry Reading.

Maddy Rhea placed first as tournament champion in Prose Reading.

Andrew Douglas placed third in Radio Speaking.

Aubrie Mozingo placed third in Special Occasion Speaking.
