The Moline Hall of Honor Selection Committee proudly announces its newest class of inductees*:
- Leslie C. Swanson (MHS Class of 1923) Nationally known photographer and author.
- Curtis C. Roseman (MHS Class of 1959) Professor, historian, geographer, and author
- Lawrence Eyre (MHS Class of 1966) Tennis coach, National High School Coach of the Year, and author.
- Louis T. Quaintance (MHS Class of 1966) Distinguished artist and sculptor
- Gary R. Conelly (MHS Class of 1969) All-American swimmer, Olympic swimmer, Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year.
- Ron Hallstrom (MHS Class of 1977) Junior College All-American football player and NFL professional football player.
The inductees, as well as their guests and representatives, will be honored at a private dinner on January 14th at Johnny’s Steak House in Moline and again that same evening at Wharton Field House immediately following the sophomore basketball game vs Quincy. The Moline Hall of Honor recognizes MHS graduates who have achieved distinction in a profession, public, and/or community services and have had a positive influence on the lives of others.

Over 50 students participated in the Festival of Trees—High School Art Exhibition, and four Moline High School Students were awarded Ribbons and the following titles: Best in Show, 2nd place in Drawing, Honorable Mention in Drawing, and 2nd place in 3D work.

Best In Show
Interact Club beat out the rest of the competition last night and won first place in the skit competition at the River Bend Food Bank (with a parody of "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid). Thanks to their creative efforts, Hy-Vee will be donating an extra 2,000 lbs of food to Moline High School to give us a head start in collecting the most donations for the Student Hunger Drive!

On March 14th students from MHS went on a field trip to the Chicago Shakespeare Theater at Navy Pier. A group of nearly 50 Honors English 1 and theater students traveled to the city to see a professional and contemporary performance of Romeo and Juliet. It was a wonderful experience, and it will be a day to remember for years to come!
