Alg3 NEW Homework Policy

I have a new homework policy for the last unit on conic sections. Our textbook doesn't have a chapter over conics (although there is an appendix that has additional information - Appendix B) so I have borrowed a unit from the New Jersey Center for Teaching and Learning. They provide homework problems and extra practice problems which I have photocopied and handed out to students. I will give 10 points per assignment for work completed (just like normal). The only difference being, if you do not feel you need the practice (because we are spending more class time doing problems and answering using the clickers) then you will not lose the 10 points if you do not do the assignment. I am optimistic that the additional time we are spending in class will translate to better retention and thus higher test and quiz scores. I will still be posting the notes at the end of the day with the suggested problems for students.

This is the link to a website that has many instructional videos over algebra (and geometry) concepts. A great place to visit if you are unsure about how to solve certain problems or just need a refresher.
