About Me
I’ve been teaching some form of English for eight years now. My career began teaching sixth grade students in Lansing, Illinois. Then I moved to seventh grade at Perspectives Charter School in Chicago, Illinois. I moved back home and spent one year at JDMS teaching Language Arts. This will be my fifth year as a member of the faculty at MHS. Since I’ve moved to the high school, I’ve had the pleasure of teaching Reading I, Lit/Lang I, Lit/Lang II, Lit/Lang III, Senior English, and Honors English I.
I attended Illinois State University where I majored in English and minored in Dance. I shared my love of performance as I danced with the Illinois State Dance Theatre from 1998-2001. After graduating, I spent six years living in Chicago where I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching from Roosevelt University. Upon moving back to the Quad Cities, I enrolled at Western Illinois University, where I earned my second masters degree in Reading.
Enough about me…check out your class site. I’ll do my best to keep a weekly agenda posted. As class progresses, I’ll add rubrics, homework assignments, and notes for your browsing.
