Earth Science … January 4th – 8th
Hello, students!
Here is what we are doing this week in Earth Science:
Monday, January 4th - Seating chart. Pick up textbook. Fill out and turn in name note card and All About You Sheet (AAYS 2009). Discuss Earth Science Syllabus (ESSYL 2009). Get 14.1-18.1 Objective Sheet and begin Chapter 14.1 Goal 1 (ESC14-18Obj (2008))(due Fri).
Tuesday, January 5th - Begin Earth Science Question of the Day Sheet #1 with Question #1 (ESQOTD B 2009). Share answer with group of 4. Complete, check, and turn in Reading Activity "What Rocks Say". Continue Chapter 14.1 Goal 1 (due Fri). If finished, work on the 14.1 EC Crossword (due Fri).
Wednesday, January 6th - Watch National Geographic: Amazing Planet: Destructive Forces and write at least 4 forces of weathering mentioned in the DVD, 4 specific examples of places where weather has occured that are mentioned in the DVD, and 12 specific new weathering terms that you learn from the DVD, and turn them in. Missed the video? Click here and take 20 notes ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erosion. Homework: Continue Chapter 14.1 Goal 1 (due Fri). If finished, work on the 14.1 EC Crossword (due Fri).
Thursday, January 7th - Continue Earth Science Question of the Day Sheet #1 with Question #2. Share answer with group of 4. Mini Demo: Physical vs. Mechanical Weathering. Go over Chapter 14.1 Goal 1 with a Power Point (PPT C14.1). Homework: Finish Chapter 14.1 Goal 1 (due Fri). If finished, work on the 14.1 EC Crossword (due Fri).
Friday, January 8th - Continue Earth Science Question of the Day Sheet #1 with Question #3. Stamp 14.1 Goal 1. Take, check, and turn in Chapter 14.1 Goal 1 Quiz. Last day to turn in the 14.1 EC Crossword. Homework: Begin Chapter 15.1 Goal 2 (due next Thurs).
