All Interact Club members need to stop by to see Mr. Bohnsack or Mr. Lindstrom to get information regarding the Rotary Leadership program.

Also, there is a meeting today after school in E204 for the Rotary Leadership program.

COUNSELING CENTER

The Quad Cities Insurance Association Scholarship is now available to graduating seniors.  This scholarship may be downloaded from the counseling website and has a due date of March 31.

Seniors who plan to attend Black Hawk College in the fall:  If you have not yet completed your application or COMPASS test to be ready to register in April, see Mrs. Thompson in the Counseling Center right away to sign up to meet with Gabriella Hurtado at MHS on March 20th to complete these steps.

There will be a huge prom/homecoming dress event at First Congregational Church in Moline on March 21st.  Short dresses are $5.00 and long dresses are $10.00.  They are name brand dresses that are brand new or used once.  See Mrs. Ryser in the Counseling Center for more details.

Tickets are now on sale for this year’s musical “Grease”.  Tickets can be purchased at the Bookstore or at the door on the night of the performance.  The ticket prices are $6.00 for students and $8.00 for adults.  Show dates are March 19, 20, and 21st at 7:30 P.M.  Don’t miss this fun show!

Sadies Dance pictures have arrived.  Please pick them up in the main office during Period 4 and before and after school today.

A list of seniors receiving math departmental honors is posted in each math room.  Please check it and let Mr. Weller know if you find a discrepancy.

A list of seniors earning departmental honors in English is posted outside the Publications Office, B216, B201, and J226.  If any senior believes he or she has met the criteria but is not listed, please see Mrs. Blackall in B201 or Mr. Calhoun in B216.

When driving on school property and in school zones, obey signage, speed limits and drive safely.

With the spring weather here, remember the dress code states, undergarments should not be visible. Clothing should be appropriate for school.

Attention all NHS members:  Please go to the Auditorium lobby right after school today so the yearbook staff can take your group picture.  It will only take about 5 minutes.

Seniors interested in the Health Sciences field:  Trinity College of Nursing and Health Sciences are accepting applications for their Respiratory Care Program for the fall of 2015.  Please see Mrs. Ryser in the Counseling Center if interested.

Western Illinois University Quad Cities is having their last Discover Western Quad Cities event for the semester on March 13th at 3:30.  Students who are interested in WIU-QC can explore majors; speak to advisors and faculty, and tour campus.  To register, see Mrs. Ryser in the Counseling Center.

SPORTS

Any girl out for or interested in Track should meet in E301 today at 3:10 P.M. to organize rides to Wharton.

There will be a brief meeting for boys’ Tennis in the Cafeteria after school today.

MISC

Students:  You must present your MHS student ID to receive food service for breakfast and lunch.  You may not use your middle school ID’s.  New MHS Student ID’s may be purchased at the bookstore.

Make your Monday extra marvelous by attending the Random Acts of Kindness meeting today after school in room B217.

There will be Art club today in room E114 at 3:15.

This is a reminder to all Lineotype members.  Today after school there will be a mandatory planning meeting for March's issue of the newspaper.  Anyone who is interested in being a part of next year's Lineotype staff should feel free to come to this meeting, too, as we are winding down this year and will be planning for next year.  We will meet in B206, Mrs. Norcross's room, after school today.

Everyone is invited to attend the next Random Acts of Kindness meeting Monday, March 2nd after school in B217.

COUNSELING CENTER

WIU is sponsoring a Quad City Teen Leadership Academy on Saturday, March 14th.  Meet teen leaders from across the Quad Cities and learn how to be a leader in our community.  The deadline for registration for this event is March 9th.  See your counselor right away for more information.

Any students, who are interested in planning the River Action Youth Summit to address the needs of the Mississippi River and learn more about environmental issues, please see Mrs. Ryser in the Counseling Center right away.

SPORTS

Any girl interested in soccer must report to the Coolidge gym for practice on Monday, March 2nd from 3:30 to 5:30 P.M.

The Moline Public Library is hosting a Graphic Novel Workshop on Saturdays from 9:00 to 12:30 p.m. This workshop will introduce students to the history of cartooning, creating a comic strip, publishing, and more. Space is limited and registration is required. Bus passes will be available to registered participants. Call the Moline Library for more information.
