CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

The Authentic Voices conference is January 30th.  Registration forms are in the Counseling Center and are due back Thursday.  The cost is $5.00.

There will be a Crime Stoppers meeting on Tuesday Jan 20 at 3:10 in C-123 (Mrs. Mahieu’s room). This will be a very informative meeting, so please plan to attend.

COUNSELING CENTER

The Golden Apple Scholarship Program has been extended to January 15.  This scholarship is for senior students that are interested in pursuing a degree in the field of education.  Go to the counseling website to apply.

Juniors:  The window for next year's online scheduling is open today through Friday, January 16th.  You must do your scheduling by Friday.  Remember to use your own Skyward password and login.  Return your printed scheduling requests and the goldenrod course request sheet to the Counseling Center.

If you are a junior who did not attend the Scheduling Presentation on Friday, stop by the Counseling Center to pick up your scheduling materials today!

SPORTS

All sophomore boys need to clean their physical education lockers out by this Friday.

Anyone interested in girls’ softball open gym:  It will be held on Saturdays in the west gym from 9-11:00 A.M.

MISC

Auditions for this year's musical, Grease will be next Tuesday and Wednesday only. Call backs will be on Thursday after school. Any students who signed up for Thursday after school need to come in and re-schedule their audition in room C125.

School musical try-outs for GREASE will be next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the choir room C125. You must be prepared to sing 16 measures of a Broadway song. You are expected to provide the music. No unaccompanied auctions. Piano accompaniment will be provided. Auditions will run from 3:30-5:30. You must sign up to audition in the choir room C125. You will also be asked to read a short excerpt from the script. Any questions? See Ms. Callahan in C125.

Stop by the Teen Corner of the Moline Public Library after school today for TEEN-ucopia. We have a variety of games for Nintendo Wii and Xbox One, board games, and crafts. Make 3D paper crafts based on your favorite BBC TV shows like Doctor Who.

National Honor Society Members:  The deadline for the Harold P. Griffith National Honor Society Scholarship application is January 30th.  This scholarship is worth $4,000.00 over four years to an NHS senior.  See details on the scholarship page of the MHS web site.

The fourth session of the Moline Library's Moviemaking Workshop will take place today at 4:00. We will continue the discussion of filming techniques. If interested in attending, please call the library at 309-524-2477 to see if spots are open.

Natural Helpers Holiday Party will be tonight in the Cafeteria from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M.  There will also be an Ugly Sweater contest.  All Natural Helper staff and students are welcome.  Students with the last name letter of A-M bring chips or snacks and N-Z bring desserts.  Team leaders are asked to bring plates, cups, napkins, drinks, or utensils.

The Illinois Chemical Foundation is now offering several $2000 scholarships.  This scholarship has a due date of February 20 and can be downloaded from the counseling website.

Natural Helpers will have their Christmas party Thursday, December 18th  from  5:30- 7:30 P.M.  in the cafeteria.  All Natural Helper staff and students are welcome.

The third and final payment for the Illinois High School Theater Fest is due today. Please write checks payable to Moline High School.  Please make every effort to take care of this ASAP.

MHS Book Club is meeting today in the library during your lunch.  See you then!
