COUNSELING CENTER

The Rock Island County NAACP Scholarship is now available.  This scholarship is worth $500, has a due date of April 28 and may be downloaded from the Counseling website.

Do you want to develop leadership and communication skills and get an opportunity to make a difference in your community?  Every year 35 teens from Rock Island and Scott counties come together and learn to access community needs and develop a grant program.  You will have to apply.  See Mrs. Dexter in the Counseling Center for details.

Looking for a summer job?  Corn detasseling applications will be in the Counseling Office.  See Mrs. Dexter.

The following scholarships are now available to graduating senior students:

1.  The Moline Kiwanis Scholarship - due May 1

2.  The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Scholarship -due April 25

3.  The Athnet Sports Recruiting Scholarship - due May 1

4.  The Quad City Illini Club Scholarship - due April 30

All information and applications for the above scholarships may be downloaded from the Counseling website.

The Moline Public Library is hosting a Poetry Contest for students in grades 6 through 12. Students can enter one original poem of up to 20 lines. Prizes are gift cards of $25 for first place, $15 for second place, and $10 for third place. Entries are due April 19, 2014. Visit the library to get an entry form or print one out from the library’s website.

The Teen Advisory Group of the Moline Public Library will meet on Thursday, April 3 at 3:30. This is your chance to make new friends, offer suggestions about programs and materials for teens, earn service credits, and make the library a better place.

Auditions for One Act Plays will be on Tuesday, April 1st right after school in room B214.  There's nothing to prepare; all you have to do is show up for your appointment and we'll give you a script to read. Sign up for an audition appointment on the Drama Board, TODAY!

The tradition of excellent musical theatre at Moline High School continues with this year's production of "How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying".  Get your tickets in the MHS bookstore for this weekend's performances (Tonight through Saturday at 7:30 and a Matinee Saturday at 2:00) Tickets are $6.00 for students and $8.00 for adults.

Congratulations to all of the new National Honor Society Inductees!  Lists are posted outside the Counseling Center and on the E-Wing first floor showcase.
