Attention all Natural Helpers:  We will be having our annual pizza party tonight at Happy Joe’s Pizza and Grille at 6:30 pm.  This Happy Joe’s is located by Western Illinois University.  Members are asked to bring $5.00 to help cover costs.  Hope to see you there!

MHS Food Service Committee members will meet tomorrow in room B131 from 3:00 to 4:00.

The Sports Unlimited club is meeting tomorrow right after school.  It is important that members be in attendance.

COUNSELING CENTER

All MHS students who are interested in the careers of Journalism and Engineering:  Please come to the Counseling Center to get application materials for the Exploring Programs in these two areas.  Engineering applications are due May 12th and a Journalism pen House will be held Tuesday, May 24th.

Contemporaries try outs will be Thursday, May 19 from 3:30-4:30. The dance clinic days will be Tuesday and Wednesday, May 17 & 18 from 3:30-4:30 in the East Gym. All girls planning to try out must attend both clinic days and the actual try out on Thursday.

Attention all freshmen:  Remember to bring your ID, Chromebook, Chromebook charger and case to your English class on the day that your teacher designates for you.  This is for an end of year check.

The Renewable Energy Science Workshop is tonight at 6:00 at the Moline Public Library.

Congratulations to our Special Olympians!  Brendan Anderson, Dakotah Gardner, Shondel Rice, Nathaniel Littrel and Austin Redell for receiving 5 gold and 5 silver medals at the regional track meet on Saturday!  Our Special Olympics team is on their way to the State competition again! Great job boys!

TAG is your chance to help plan programs and events for the library, suggest books and other materials, and earn service hours. And at 6:00 the library will host a MaKey MaKey workshop. Learn how to turn everyday objects into game controllers, music makers, and more. Stop by or call to see if spots are still open.

On the half day of school tomorrow, all freshmen and sophomores will be testing in various rooms throughout the building.  The freshmen will be taking the PSAT and the sophomores will be taking an SAT exam.  Signs will be posted around the building designating student room assignments.  Freshmen are testing on third floor and sophomores will be testing on second floor.  Please be sure to check for your assigned testing classroom in advance.  It is essential that those students who normally start their day with a period 2 class arrange transportation in order to arrive at school by 8:00 a.m. tomorrow.  All freshmen and sophomores must be in their assigned rooms by 8:10 a.m.  Please bring along two pencils and a calculator.

Operation Prom for juniors and seniors is tomorrow (Wednesday, May 4th) in the auditorium from 9 - 10:50 am. The student lot doors and auditorium doors will open at 8:45 am. You will go directly in to the auditorium only, as testing is occurring in the rest of the building. Signs are posted on first floor directing you to your seating and the teacher you are to report to for attendance.

Students:  Please do not open exterior doors for any adults or students during the school day. All visitors must check in at the front door.

Due to uncooperative weather, tonight's Academic Team Year End Picnic will be moved indoors to E102 at 5:00.  Bring a dish to pass and a board game, and come wish our Seniors goodbye!

Link Crew Leaders have been selected. The list of accepted leaders is posted outside the counseling center. If you've been selected you'll need to stop in the counseling center to get the dates of the training and accept your position as a Link Crew leader. There were many applicants and it's extremely hard to choose these leaders, so if you were not accepted, please do not hesitate to apply again next year!

The Justin Sharp Memorial Scholarship is now available to graduating seniors.  Applications may be downloaded from the counseling website.  This scholarship has a due date of June 1.

National Honor Society Members:  Please return your Birdies for Charity forms to the Counseling Center.  Seniors who still need to write their thank you notes for the scholarships you received from the NHS Foundation, the address information is available in the Counseling Center.

Today is College Signing Day! Any senior or 6th semester grad will have the opportunity to "sign" to their intended college. This is a nationwide initiative started by the First Lady. Students are encouraged to make their decisions and join the nation as seniors across the country post their "signing selfies" on Twitter. If you post that picture with the hashtags #BetterMakeRoom and #CollegeSigningDay, it might just show up on American Eagle's Times Square billboards today, where thousands of people walk by every day! Better yet—the First Lady herself may retweet your post!
