MHS Book Club will be having its last meeting for the year in the Library today during lunch.

The Kaleidoscript is now on sale! Get your copy for $3 from the Bookstore, Library, or Kaleidoscript staff!  Each purchase enters your name into a drawing for a gift certificate. Possible winnings: $25 Shell Gas, $25 Target, $25 Red Robin, $25 Best Buy! Get your copy today before they are sold out! Drawings for gift certificate begin this Wednesday.

Interact Club is selling sweet treats by the exits after school.  Your purchases will support a family in a third world country.

COUNSELING CENTER

Students who are interested in filmmaking:  Augustana College is hosting a free opportunity to work with Fresh Films July 9-15th in the Quad Cities.  Applications are due by June 15th.  Please come to the Counseling Center for more information.

SPORTS

Attention:  Anyone interested in playing football next year, there will be an important informational meeting today  in the West Gym at 3:15.  If you are in a spring sport, you don’t need to attend, but see Coach Phelps, Coach Reeves, or Coach Gorgal for information.

There will be a Cross Country meeting at 3:10 in Ms. Ashcraft's room (B210) on Thursday, May 19th. If you are interested in running cross country, please attend this meeting.

All Track girls need to turn in their uniforms on Tuesday or Wednesday of this week at Wharton at 3:45.

MISC

Contemporaries try outs will be Thursday, May 19 from 3:30-4:30. The dance clinic days will be Tuesday and Wednesday, May 17 & 18 from 3:30-4:30 in the East Gym. All girls planning to try out must attend both clinic days and the actual try out on Thursday.

Please plan ahead to stay for extra help at After School Tutoring tomorrow.  Tutoring is available from 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. in B325.  Take advantage of this opportunity to get assistance with your assignments!

We still have room on our trip to Japan for June of 2017. If you have not already registered, come to the Library Media Center after school on Friday. No one EVER regrets money spent on travel. The pay offs are life-long. Come find out how you can earn your way!!

They have flexible schedules and a really fun work environment.  You must be a graduating senior to apply.  For more information, see Mrs. Thompson in the Counseling Center.

Attention all freshmen, sophomores, and juniors: The Line O' Type is currently accepting applications for next year's newspaper staff.  We are looking for editors, assistant editors, reporters, and photographers.  Applications can be picked up in the Publications office on second floor B wing or in Mrs. Norcross's room in B206.  All applications are due by Thursday, May 19 and should be turned in to the Publications Office or Mrs. Norcross.  See Mrs. Norcross for further details.

Yearbook distribution for seniors begins Monday night after Convocation.  Distribution for the remaining students will begin after school on Tuesday, May 17th.  Distribution on both dates will be in the library.  Make sure you have paid all fines and fees, including your lunch account, so you can pick up your yearbooks on time. Library fines are to be paid in the library.

Congratulations to our Special Olympians!  Brendan Anderson, Dakotah Gardner, Shondel Rice, Nathaniel Littrel and Austin Redell for receiving 5 gold and 5 silver medals at the regional track meet on Saturday!  Our Special Olympics team is on their way to the State competition again! Great job boys!

Attention Line O' Type reporters: This is just a reminder that if you were assigned a story for this month's issue, all stories are due today by 5 PM.  See Mrs. Norcross in B206 if you have further questions.

On the half day of school tomorrow, all freshmen and sophomores will be testing in various rooms throughout the building.  The freshmen will be taking the PSAT and the sophomores will be taking an SAT exam.  Signs will be posted around the building designating student room assignments.  Freshmen are testing on third floor and sophomores will be testing on second floor.  Please be sure to check for your assigned testing classroom in advance.  It is essential that those students who normally start their day with a period 2 class arrange transportation in order to arrive at school by 8:00 a.m. tomorrow.  All freshmen and sophomores must be in their assigned rooms by 8:10 a.m.  Please bring along two pencils and a calculator.

Operation Prom for juniors and seniors is tomorrow (Wednesday, May 4th) in the auditorium from 9 - 10:50 am. The student lot doors and auditorium doors will open at 8:45 am.
