Sophomores:  The deadline to do your online scheduling for next year is tomorrow at 4:00 p.m.  If you need a computer to do your scheduling, the Media Center is open before school, after school or during a study hall.  The scheduling power point and some scheduling directions are on the front page of the MHS web site.

The following scholarships are now available to senior students.  All information and applications may be downloaded from the Counseling website:

The Moline Center for Belgian Culture Scholarship - due April 16

The Kathryn Hansen Business Scholarship - due March 7.

Juniors and Seniors--Western Illinois University will be here this Wednesday, January 27th from 9--12 to help students with applications for next fall, and they will make admissions decisions on the spot that day.  Please come to the Counseling Center to sign up.  Juniors who want to take courses Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit on the WIU QC campus next year should also sign up for a time to meet with an admissions representative.

SPORTS

Attention all Bass team members and any student interested in the Bass team.... Bass team casting practices will begin this coming Tuesday, January 26th, from 3:15 - 4:30 in the cafeteria.  Practices will be on Tuesdays-Thursdays and Saturday mornings. See Coach Albrecht in B322 if you have questions.

Call-backs for the musical Fiddler on the Roof are posted outside Ms. Callahan's room - C125. Call backs will be Tuesday, Jan. 26th from 5-7pm in the Auditorium. Please wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to dance.

Congratulations to Logan Frazelle and Dulce Lule who received gold medals this weekend in the Individual Basketball Skills Competition.  They will be also competing in March at the State Competition in Bloomington/ Normal!

The Buick Achievers Scholarship is now available to graduating seniors.  It has a due date of February 29.

The Janice M. Scott Scholarship is now available and has a due date of March 31.

The CBAI Community Bank Scholarship is now available to graduating seniors.  Applications may be printed off from the Counseling website.  This scholarship has a due date of February 3.

The Moline High School Class of 1945 is offering a scholarship to graduating seniors at MHS.  Applications may be accessed from the Counseling Website.  This scholarship has a due date of April 15, 2016.

SPORTS

Spring sports start Monday Feb. 29th.  Any student interested in participating in a spring sport must have a current physical and parent permission form on file in the Athletic office.  Please see Mrs. Valladares in the Athletic office with any questions.

Any girl interested in Track:  There will be a brief meeting in room E301 right after school today to sign up for Girls Track.  If you cannot attend the meeting, please see Mr. Bohnsack in E301.

Congratulations to the Special Olympics Basketball team who got first place at the District Tournament in Bloomington/Normal Illinois. The team is now headed to State in March.  Great job to Dakotah Gardner, Gracie Reilly, Jared Sountris, Shondel Rice, Reilly Timi and Eric Mugabe.

The Moline Public Library will host a Financial Aid workshop today from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.  The Illinois Student Assistance Commission will provide hands-on help filling out the FAFSA and finding other sources of financial aid.
