The Gay Straight Alliance will meet in the Media Center after school today. Old and new members are welcome!
Attention Bible Study Members: Today after school, we will be having our yearbook picture. Please meet promptly at 3:10 for our picture. We will meet in J227 and stay until 3:40. All are invited to be a member of this student-led group.
There will be a Student Congress meeting Monday Feb. 8 at 7:30 in J212. Blood drive worker sign-ups will be one of the agenda items for this meeting.
The Moline Foundation is now offering over 15 scholarships exclusive to Moline High School seniors only. Over $45,000 worth of scholarships are available this year through this organization. Apply online via the Counseling Website. The due date for all of these scholarships is March 16, 2016.
The MHS Ellen Roys PTSA Scholarship is now available for MHS senior students only. Three scholarships will be given from this organization. Applications may be downloaded from the counseling website. The due date for this scholarship is April 4.
The SOAR Scholarship is now open to graduating seniors. Interested applicants can obtain a copy of the application from the counseling website. This scholarship has a due date of April 24, 2016.
The following scholarships are now available to graduating senior students. Applications may be found on the counseling website. The scholarships are as follows:
The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Scholarship - due April 15
The National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association Scholarship - due February 28
The Illinois Athletic Directors Association John Van Fleet Scholarship - due February 29
The Rock Island County Farm Bureau Scholarship - due March 25
Seniors: If your family would like to complete your FAFSA with the help of trained professionals, please attend Moline High School's FAFSA night next Tuesday, February 9th from 3:30 to 7:30 in B218 and B220. Grant money will run out before the end of February, so it is crucial that you complete this financial aid form ASAP. Please bring 2015 W-2 forms, financial records, and/or tax forms. For a list of helpful information to bring, please stop by the Counseling Center. Refreshments will be served courtesy of Quad City Scholars.
All spring sports start February 29th. Any student interested in trying out for a spring sport needs to have a physical, parent permission form on file in the Athletic Office. See Mrs. Valladares in the Athletic Office with any questions.
If you have not purchased this year's "M" yet, the final date for yearbook sales is Friday, February 12th. Please take $52.00 to the Book Store and order your copy before it is too late. Unlike previous years, no books will be sold in May.
If you were unable to register to vote yesterday, and will be turning 18 on or before November 8th, please see Mrs. Mesick in the Library Media Center today. Don't forget your driver's license or other identification with your correct address printed on it.
If you have a form for the dental bus, please turn it into the Clinic as soon as possible.
Congratulations to Jared Sountris for getting 4th place in the Super G downhill skiing competition and 3rd place in the Alpine Slalom skiing at the State Special Olympics Winter Competition in Galena this week!! Great job Jarod!
