CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

All Academic Team members who have signed up to help with the Middle School tournament at Wilson on Saturday are reminded to be at the school by 8:30 a.m. The tournament will be over by 11:30 a.m. Please confirm with Mr. Pitz that you will be there to help.

All those interested in applying for Encore! are reminded that applications are due today. Sign-ups for audition times and monologues are also available in Mr. Thomas' room, B208.

Attn all those interested in joining Flag Corp for the 2011-2012 school year: the mandatory try-outs are Tuesday and Thursday of next week from 3:30-4:30 outside of the band room. If you want to try out, you must attend both times. See you there! 

SPORTS

Attention Cheerleaders: On Monday, there is a meeting at 3:30 with the Varsity representative.  Please meet in the gymnastics room.

Just a reminder that student athletic tickets will not get you into the State line soccer challenge this weekend.

MISC

It’s Half Price Day in the library!  Now is the time to clear your account for half the amount. Stop in anytime today and thank you for using your MHS Library.

Any students interested in summer Driver Education should see their counselor as soon as possible. You must be 15 years old by May 30^th to be eligible.

Prom tickets are now on sale at the bookstore. The theme is "Lights Out". Tickets are $15 each through May 11th. You must have one student ID per ticket or a guest form at the time of purchase. If you are planning on taking a guest that does not attend MHS, please make sure to get a guest form from the bookstore. The form needs to be filled out by the guest and their school. These forms need to be turned in to the bookstore by May 11th. You purchase your guest's ticket at the same time you turn in their form. Please remember that guests must bring their driver’s license or school ID with them to be admitted to the dance.

Attention all seniors:  Your final due date for all library materials is Friday, May 6.  Remember, all fines must be cleared by May 11 to receive your yearbook.

Senior Convocation is Monday, May 16th. Seniors will be allowed to pick up your pre-paid yearbook after the ceremony IF you wear your cap and gown, all fines and fees are paid and you have your student ID. Don't miss out on this opportunity to get your yearbook early.

Distribution for all other pre-paid yearbooks will be Tuesday May 17th.  Anyone who did not pre-pay for a yearbook will be able to purchase one in the bookstore beginning Wednesday May 18th.  Remember - all fines and fees must be paid prior to getting your yearbook.

The Moline Masonic Lodge is offering graduating seniors with a 2.75 gpa a $500 scholarship. Applications may be obtained in the Counseling Office.

Any senior football player who would like to apply for the Don Schick Memorial Football Scholarship must complete an application by Friday, Apr. 29^th. See Coach SantAmour for an application.

Last warning from Chuck Norris to sign up for the Bags Tournament. It starts at 6:00 p.m. tonight in the east gym. Please sign up in the book store.

Juniors: You are reminded of the PSAE testing Wednesday and Thursday. Juniors only will attend school on Wednesday from 8:00 until 12:35. You will need no.2 pencils, a calculator and an I.D. **NO CELL PHONES ARE PERMITTED IN THE CLASSROOMS DURING TESTING**. On Thursday, juniors will be here from 8:00 until 11:00. 9^th, 10^th, and 12^th graders will report to school from 12:00 until 3:00 on Thursday. You will be testing with your advisory class. See the Golden flyers by the drinking fountains or by the café doors to determine which the room in which you will test.

Seniors are to pick up Caps & Gowns today in the AUD lobby. You may do so until 3:30.

The Link Leaders for the 2011-2012 school year have been selected. The names of selected Leaders will be posted after school outside the counseling center and next to the bookstore. If you name appears on the list, it is your responsibility as a Link Leader to pick up an acceptance letter from Mrs. Sanders or Mrs. Dexter in the counseling center. This letter will confirm dates for your May and August training days, and picking it up from the counseling center by the end of April is mandatory!

Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors:  Augustana College is hosting their Summer Academy June 20--24th. There will be sessions on many topics from Crime Scene Investigation to the ever popular lesson on Human Cadavers/Gross Anatomy. There will also be sessions on Dance, Flute, Environmentalism, Sports Medicine and many other topics. There is financial help available for those students who need it. See your counselor today if you are interested.

This is a reminder for all first and second year NHS members that the induction ceremony is tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium.  We will practice in the auditorium Tuesday morning.  Juniors will practice period 1 and seniors will practice period 2.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CAST/CREW/ORCHESTRA OF BYE BYE BIRDIE!! Last night's opening performance showcased the talents of many of MHS's finest musical and dramatic performers. Tonight and Saturday will be your last chance to see one of Broadway's most popular musicals of all time. Don't miss out on the fun and craziness while we follow the antics of America's teenagers as they tell this story about Conrad Birdie (aka Elvis). There are too many funny and touching moments to describe---you will just have to come and see it for yourselves.   Tickets are available at the MHS Bookstore or at the door. Curtain is at 7:30 p.m. so come early to select the best seats!!

TONIGHT IS OPENING NIGHT!!!  Bye Bye Birdie hits the MHS stage tonight at 7:30 p.m.  Get your tickets at the MHS Bookstore.  All seats are reserved.  Adults tickets are $8.00 and student prices are $6.00.  Come and see your fellow classmates create the story of Conrad Birdie

(a famous rock and roller). You will see Eugene Pavinato as the hip, pelvis gyrating Conrad.  You will see Brendan Meier as the overbearing, comic father.  You will see Zina Ellis as the ever devoted girlfriend to Conrad's manager.  Alejandro Raya portrays the light hearted manager who is bossed around by his demanding MAMA played by Kyra Graham.  The lovely Kim is portrayed by Kaitlyn Wehr and her jealous boyfriend is overacted (in a good way) by Eric White.  With a cast of over 80 students, an orchestra of 18, and a crew of over 20, everyone will know SOMEONE in this production. Come and support their efforts in recreating one of Broadway's most popular musicals. You will have a great time---this is NOT to be missed!!

The Bookstore will be closing at 3:00 today. For those of you who need to purchase tickets for the Musical, please try to do so during your lunch.
