MISC.

Seniors: Cap and Gown order information is due today. Herff Jones is set up across from the Counseling Center until 3:30 p.m. today to collect your orders.

Powder Puff and Tug O’ War t-shirt orders must be turned in to the bookstore by 3:00 today. If you still need a form, stop by the bookstore.

Everybody can contribute to the Hunger Drive at tonight’s football game. People bringing 5 cans or more will receive a free t-shirt (while supplies last). MHS and the community appreciates your support!!

School picture re-takes are on Monday, October 4^th in the Auditorium from 8:00 a.m. through lunch. This is your last chance to get your picture for the yearbook.

Students, Faculty and staff are invited to support the Moline “Marching Maroons” as they perform their Elvis! Show at the Rock Island Marching Festival on Monday, October 4 at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased from Mr. Schwaegler in the band room. Come and cheer on YOUR BAND as they march the BLOCK “M” up and down Rocky’s field!

Faculty Talent Show tickets are now on sale in the bookstore. Tickets are only $3.00 for the Thursday, October 7^th show (period 7). All proceeds benefit the Student Hunger Drive.

The Debate Team meeting for today has been canceled.

Remember – Key Club will be selling items at lunch and throughout the day to raise money for the Student Hunger Drive. You will need to purchase tickets ahead of time to get items from the "Souper heroes". Whitey’s, other treats and t-shirts will be sold at lunch for cash.

Art Club will be meeting again today right after school.

There is a Key Club meeting after school in the cafeteria today.

Attention all Bass team members. We will have a meeting this Friday morning before school in coach Albrecht’s room, B-322, at 7:50 a.m. This is a very important meeting as we will be discussing a very important and very large fundraiser for the Bass team – attendance is required.  If you cannot attend see coach Albrecht.

Photo Club will have a brief meeting in D125 after school today for anyone interested in learning to take and develop pictures.

The Line O’ Type will have a meeting today right after school. This meeting is for all editor’s and all reporters interested in writing for the October issue.

Art Club will be meeting today and Thursday right after school.

There is a Key Club meeting after school in the cafeteria this Thursday.

COUNSELING CENTER:

The Mediacom Scholarship Program application is now available to all students who plan to attend any college, university or trade school. Applications may be downloaded at:  www.mediacomworldclass.com. The Scholarship is worth $1000.

A message to all Sophomores:  All students interested in working on the sophomore class float need to attend a meeting on Wednesday, September 29th. The meeting will be right after school in J208, with Mrs. Suss, and will only take a few minutes. All sophomores are welcome!

The German Club will hold its first meeting this afternoon in J-333. Come for the treats and enjoy Oktoberfest atmosphere. Meet your new officers: Melissa Palm, president; John Tester, vice-president; treasurer, Frank Zarazinski, and secretary, Amanda Lawrence. See what Oktoberfest looks like and learn what it really means.  Students can still join by paying their $3.00 dues.  

There is an upward Bound study session today after school. Hope to see you there!

Attention all students! Remaining 2010 Bass Team Shirts are on sale again in the bookstore. The Bass shirts and sweatshirts have been discounted an almost unbelievable price of $5 for long and short sleeve shirts and just $10 for all remaining sweatshirts.  At these prices they will not last long so get to the bookstore fast!  And remember, all proceeds support the MHS bass team.

There is an Upward Bound study session after school today in room J222.

Latinos Unidos will meet at 3:10 today in room J322.

Anyone interested in helping to build or program large robots for competition should check out the QC Elite Robotics Club. We'll teach you everything you need to know! The first meeting will be here tonight in D107 from 6 to 8. See Mrs. H. Anderson for more details.

Kaleidoscript members are reminded to stop by B209 Wednesday after school to pick up patron letters and a Kaleidoscript treat.

There is an Art Club meeting on advisory Wednesday at 3:15. Be there or be a square pear with

hair!

Authentic Voices will meet tomorrow either 3^rd or 6^th period in the fitness room across from the West gym. Ladies, get your green membership forms turned in to Mrs. Dexter or Mrs. Olson!

The Key Club meeting will be on Thursday in the cafeteria at 3:10. We will have a guest speaker about the Student Food Drive. Please come to J 307 if you are a musician who could rap or sing some lyrics for a CD. Students performing the skit should meet in J 307 at 3:10 today.

Attn. Seniors: Order forms and money for senior t-shirts are due to the bookstore by Wednesday, Sept. 22^nd.

HOST FAMILIES NEEDED:  If you and your family are able to host one of our visiting German students for three weeks, starting on October 20, please see Mr. Pitz in J-333 before or after school. These students from our partner school all speak English and would follow your class schedule on most school days. They leave on November 10.

School pictures are in. You may pick them up in the auditorium lobby today during lunch.

COUNSELING CENTER

The Acorn Equality Fund Scholarship is available in amounts up to $4,000. If interested, see Mr. Bodeen.

The QC Auto Service will give one $500 cash scholarship to 12 Quad City Area high school students who plan to go to college in the fall of 2011. Interested high school seniors need a "C" average or better to qualify. This scholarship is open to ANY field of study and does not have to be in the automotive industry. Applications may be downloaded at:  www.qcautoservice.com

Students interested in attending University of Illinois are encouraged to stop by the counseling center to get information on their visit to Moline next Wednesday. Mrs. Dexter has details.

Failure to display your MHS parking tag will result in a ticket. Numerous tickets have been issued and they will continue to be issued.
