MISC.

This is a reminder that Metro Link buses going to Centre Station will depart from behind the tennis courts on 26^th Avenue.

Yearbooks will be distributed on Monday, May 17th to students who pre-ordered. If you did not pre-order a yearbook, you may purchase one at the Bookstore beginning next Monday. Sales will continue through May 14^th and will resume the 18^th. To pick up any yearbook, ALL fines and fees must be paid at both the bookstore and the library. Don't miss out on having a lifetime of memories from MHS.

Attention all cast/crew/orchestra members of "The Music Man". All scripts and scores are now PAST DUE. All materials should have been returned to the music office and are now subject to a late fee. Please return all materials (erased!) ASAP. Also, please check the dressing rooms for all personal items. They will be discarded if not claimed by Monday.
**In addition, set strike will be Monday after school from 3:15 p.m. until complete. Please bring $3.00 for pizza when we are finished. All cast is required to come and help with set strike. Everything must be cleared and cleaned before we leave. Many hands make light work!  

SENIORS:  If you are planning to attend college in the fall and have not already signed for your final transcript, see Mrs. Hastings. ALL colleges need the final transcript. Your parents will not be able to do it for you after graduation. Failure to have a final transcript sent can delay your financial aid and registration for spring classes.

Don’t get left out! Prom is Saturday, May 8^th. A limited number of tickets are on sale at the Bookstore for $15 through May 5^th. They will go up to $20 on Thursday, May 6^th. You must have one school ID for each ticket purchased or turn a guest form in at the time of purchase.

Flag Corp try-outs will be held again today in front of the band room at 3:30. Come try out for the 2010-2011 school year!

All MHS staff and students who are members of National Honor Society should wear their pins on Friday and be recognized for their efforts toward scholarship, leadership, character, and service.  Congratulations to our new inductees and to our second year NHS members for an outstanding year!

Congratulations to the Academic Team for its performance on the Knowledge Master Open earlier this month. The Maroons ranked 8th in Illinois and in the top 20 percent of schools across the country who took the 200-question test on computer. Senior Jessamyn Lockard was also recognized as a member of the All-State Scholastic Bowl team at the annual banquet in Bloomington on April 17th. Team members are reminded that May 4 is the date of our annual potluck picnic.

Today is the Drama Club meeting. Go to room B214 right after school.

Attention all thespian inductees: The money for induction and information cards are due back to Mrs. Griesenbeck by the end of the day today. You will not be inducted into the thespian society unless you return your fees and form. While you're there, make sure you reserve your spot for the end of the year drama banquet on May 14th.

There is an Upward Bound study session after school today in room B217. Hope you can make it!

Anyone interested in girl's tennis next year need to meet in Coach Jones' room J208A today after school for a meeting.

Anyone interested in boy’s soccer may attend soccer open gym. It starts today at 6 p.m. at the top of the bowl.

MISC.

An important message to Juniors: This Wednesday and Thursday is the PSAE testing. It is important you be here those days, as the tests are a state requirement for graduation. Please bring a calculator and No. 2 pencil with you for the test. **Also, there is a strict no cell phone rule during state testing. Students who bring cell phones into the classroom will be dismissed and will have to make the test up at a later date.

Important for the entire student body: Because of the testing on Wednesday, juniors ONLY will be in attendance. You will be dismissed at 12:35 for the day. On Thursday, juniors will be here until 11:00 a.m. Freshmen, sophomores, and seniors will attend from 12-3:00. You will report to your P.1 class for shortened classes.

Black Hawk College work internship students: If you attend classes outside MHS in the afternoons, and will not be here for the shortened schedule this Thursday, please let the attendance office know as soon as possible so you will be excused. It is your responsibility to notify the attendance office.

Area Career Center students will be expected to be in attendance at MHS on Thursday afternoon unless you are in Barbering or Cosmetology.

Effective Wednesday, April 28^th, through the end of the school year, Metro Link buses going to Centre Station will depart from behind the tennis courts on 26^th Avenue.

Seniors: Caps & Gowns may be picked up today in the auditorium lobby until 3:30 p.m.

There will be an informational meeting for all girls interested in trying out for next year's football and/or basketball cheerleading on Tuesday, April 27th at 3:30 in room J222.

Attn future reporters: Any student wishing to be part of next year’s Line O’ Type’ staff needs to stop by the Pub and pick up an application.

Any senior who did not fill out a survey for the Line O’ Type on his or her future plans, should stop by the Pub today to do so. If you do not fill out a survey, your name will NOT appear in the final Line O’ Type.

All students applying for Encore! are reminded that applications are due to Mr. Thomas by  Friday. If you need an application, please stop by B208.

COUNSELING CENTER

There will be no classes for junior and senior students at the Area Career Center on the two PSAE testing days, April 28 & 29. However, students enrolled in Barbering or Cosmetology will be in attendance.

The best seats for "The Music Man", this year's musical extravaganza, are nearly gone! If you haven't decided which night to see this year's musical, you had better decide fast! Make a date, make plans with your friends, or as a last resort - tell your family about this weekend's production. The MHS spring musical is a great celebration of MHS's finest talents and this year's "Music Man" is no exception. Big production numbers such as "76 trombones" and "Ya got Trouble" are contrasted with beautiful ballads like "Goodnight My Someone". It's all there:   comedy, dance, theatre, bright sets and costumes, and most of all, fun! Stop by the MHS Bookstore right away! Adult tickets are $8.00 and student tickets are $6.00. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Plan to come a little early to deal with the crowds and those who wait to buy tickets at the door. See you there!

Applications for those interested in being a part of Encore!, Moline High School's acting troupe, are available in B208. Anyone with interest in being on the team should come to B208 with any questions and to get an application form.

Crime Stoppers will meet today at 3:05 in room B152.

Gamer Club will meet after school in the cafeteria today.

Key Club will have a meeting in J 307 after school today. Hope to see all of you there.

All Academic Team members are reminded to attend the KMO/Pizza Party this evening in B-131 starting at 5:45 p.m. We should be finished by around 8:15.  See you there.

Spanish Club will meet today after school in J306. You will choose your 2010 t-shirt design and get permission forms for the bowling and pizza night. Bring $12 for t-shirt orders! See you there!

There will be a meeting after school Friday for all Line O’ Type editors in B201.

SPORTS

Open gym for any student wanting to play basketball will begin Monday. Meet in the weight room at 3:30 then in the east gym at 4:15. Open gym will be held Monday’s, Wednesday’s, and Thursday’s.

Wrestlers interested in team camp need to attend a meeting on Friday immediately after school in the wrestling room. If you have any questions please see coach Ealy.

COUNSELING CENTER

Seniors: If you have not filed your FAFSA yet, the due date is this Monday, April 19^th. This is a firm due date if you want to qualify for MAP money (Monetary Award Program). This does apply for Black Hawk College students as well.
