CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

Today is the Drama Club meeting. Go to room B214 right after school. See you there!

There’s an Upward Bound Study Session today after school in room B217. Hope you can make it!

Sophomores and Juniors! Don’t forget that Link Crew applications need to be in no later than Apr. 1^st. They are available in B115, B208, or the counseling center.

Key Club will have a meeting this Thursday in B131 after school. We will be presenting a check to United Way as well as having a photo taken. If you participated in Student Day of Caring or the Student Campaign please make sure you attend.

MISC.

Authentic Voices girls--Do you have question you would like answered by Dr. Tracy McLoone tomorrow? Please get those questions to Mrs. Olson today and make sure you attend either p. 5 or p. 6 tomorrow in E204 to hear answers to important questions without fear of criticism or judgment!  You matter, you should be educated about your body and you will enjoy this meeting! Hope to see you there!

Wilson Middle School is selling t-shirts to assist the Perkins family. Their child, Gabe has stage 4 cancer. The shirts are only $10 and are available in the clinic. Checks can be made out to the Moline Board of Education. Thank you for your support.

Quad City Scholars: If you’d like to order a t-shirt, you must attend the meeting in E205 after school on Thursday at 3:05. T-shirt money is due to Mr. Carther by Friday. The cost is $12.

Any sophomore interested in getting a scholarship to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards weekend in May, should see Mrs. Ryser in the counseling center.  The deadline to apply is March 26th.

MISC.

Anyone who takes in a gently used Prom dress to JC Penney will get a 20% off coupon on a new dress this Friday - Monday. Moline High school will benefit from the gently used Prom dresses so if you have a dress to donate, consider taking it to JC Penney or bring the dress directly to Mrs. Davila in J307. If you are interested in receiving a donated dress for prom please contact your Counselor to be placed on a list. We are not sure yet what styles or sizes will be available.

Also, Kaleidoscript is going to press next week and we need all available members to join us in B209 this Friday morning for final layout. We know you don't have class, so we hope to see you there!

On Saturday the Varsity Academic team won two of three matches at the Dunlap sectional, losing only to eventual winner Morton in a match that went down to the last question. The team had an excellent season, winning both a Masonic Sectional and an IHSA regional title. Congratulations!

Today is the Drama Club meeting. Go to B214 right after school. See you then!

The MHS Book Club will be meeting today during your lunch in the Media Center. Hope to see you there!

There will be a Line O’ Type meeting after school today. Editors- please come and assign articles if you have not already done so.

All Natural Helpers are invited to a potluck Wednesday night in the cafeteria at 6:00

Living Lands and Waters needs volunteers for their “million trees” project. Any students wishing to volunteer should see Mr. B in J137 for details.

If you’re not sure exactly what engineering is all about, but are interested in finding out, you should consider attending St. Ambrose’s informal question and answer session. This session will be held Mar. 31^st. Mrs. Dexter in the counseling center has more information.

Any sophomore interested in getting a scholarship to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards weekend in May, should see Mrs. Ryser in the counseling center.  The deadline to apply is March 26th.

Attn all volleyball players:  All girls planning to go out for volleyball next fall must attend a brief meeting before school this Wednesday at 7:50 a.m. OR at 3:05 p.m. in Coach Albrecht’s room (B322). You will be discussing camps, summer league and open gym schedules. Attendance is mandatory for all girls planning to try out for volleyball this fall. If you cannot attend either meeting, see Coach Albrecht today.

Staff or students who would like to donate money to help Gabe Perkins and the Perkins family may bring donations to Mrs. Ryser in the counseling center by Friday, March 19th.  Mr. Perkins is a science teacher at Wilson Middle School.

Congratulations again to the Varsity Academic Team for winning the IHSA regional held here on Monday night. We wish you luck on Saturday as you compete against the other regional winners for the sectional championship!

The Debate Team photo will be taken in J209 today right after school. Please be prompt.

COUNSELING CENTER

Due to changes beyond our control, the following classes will not be offered for dual enrollment next year: Journalism, Humanities, and Speech. These classes will only receive high school credit. If you have enrolled in one or more of these courses expecting dual credit, you will be allowed to change your English course requests. All changes must be submitted to your counselor by 3:00 p.m. this Friday. Please see Mr. Cabel in B115 if you have any questions.

Stage Crew for the Music Man will be today from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. Please come if you are interested in helping to construct scenery for the musical. We will also be working on Saturday, 9:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. If you have questions, see Mr. May.
