The MHS Book Club will be meeting today during your lunch in the Media Center. Hope to see you there!

 

There is an Upward Bound study session today after school.

 

Drama Club will NOT be meeting today after school.

 

Congratulations go out to members of Encore!, Moline High School's Acting Troupe, for their success at last weekend's Rochelle Tournament.  Special Recognition goes out to the following: Alex Haifa and Ellen Wells, 2nd Place Dramatic Duet Acting, Ellen Wells, 5th place Original Comedy; Kullan Buckrop and Jenna Jackson, 5th place Dramatic Duet Acting; Carlie Lavin and Jenna Jackson, 2nd place Humurous Duet Acting; Jenna Pautch; 5th place Radio Speaking and Tournament Champion in Original Oratory; Kaitlyn Wehr, 5th place in Humurous Interp.; Zina Ellis, 2nd place in Prose Reading; Mercedes Padro, 5th place in Prose Reading; and Autumn Loose, Tournament Champion in Original Comedy.  Congrats to all!

 

SPORTS

Any girl planning on going out for track should see Mr. Bohnsack in E301 if you’re interested in conditioning over break.

 

All off-season football players not out for a winter sport are to go the weight room at 3:15 today.

 

MISC.

2010 graduates are reminded to check the diploma list outside the Registrar’s office for errors. Make needed changes before January 15th, otherwise it will cost you $5.00.

 

Tomorrow you will start taking your final exams. All students are reminded that if you have met the attendance incentive, you are still encouraged to take the final exam to improve your grade. If you have met, and are on the bubble for a grade, please take the final. It can only help your grade, not harm it. If you are scheduled to take a final and do not show up, you will be required to come in this Saturday or the first three days of break to make it up, so don’t miss it!

Winter open gym dates for baseball are available from Mr. Lindauer in the East Gym.

The patio will be closed for the remainder of the semester.

On December 14th, from 3:30 – 7:00 p.m. the Rock Island Health Department will be here to administer free H1N1 shots to any Moline School District student. A parent or guardian MUST accompany you. This will be held in the AUD hallway.

Congratulations to the Academic Team members for their performance on last week's Knowledge Master Open. The team's score placed them ninth in Illinois and the top 20 percent of teams in the country who took the test. Good luck to the varsity this Saturday.

 

Attention Spanish Club members! Meet for Pan Dulce and hot chocolate in C122 on Thursday after school. Hasta la vista!

 

Gamer Club will meet Thursday after school in the cafeteria from 3-4:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome. You may join the club at anytime!

Any senior interested in applying to Gonzaga University should see Mrs. Bollaert in the counseling center.

Start your day out right at Moline’s Mobile Mocha Cappuccino Café on Friday morning. At the cappuccino bar, located by the “M” and in front of Student Affairs, you can delight your senses with a steaming cup of hot chocolate, hot cider, or cappuccino in two flavors. Treat yourself to a hot drink and treat a deserving student to warm clothes. All proceeds go to Share Joys.

 

Do you have overdue library books or fines? Stop by the library to pay them this week and your money will go to Share Joys!

Students--You may buy raffle tickets from Share Joys Elves using your Share Joys tickets. The list of prizes is hanging outside the main office. You could win a Wii Gaming Systen, an ipod or many other prizes. Share Joys tickets are on sale at the bookstore or at lunch in the cafeteria this week. Starting today, there will be Whitey's ice cream on sale in the cafeteria at lunch.

 

Attn. junior and senior boys! Come show off your volleyball skills by participating in the boys powderpuff match tonight at Coolidge at 7 p.m. It costs $5 to play with all proceeds going to Share Joys. See Sam Fournier, Lauren Arnold or Mr. Prybil if you would like to play.

All Academic Team members are reminded to attend the KMO tonight in room E-204. Start time is 6:30. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

 

Today is the Drama Club meeting right after school in B214. See you there!

 

There will be an NHS Variety Show practice today and Wednesday at 5:30 in the AUD lobby. We will also practice on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.

 

There is an Upward Bound study session today after school.

 

Authentic Voices will meet the following dates and times in E204:

Juniors – Tuesday, Dec. 1, (this period, period 3)

Sophomores – Wednesday, Dec. 3, period 5

Freshmen – Wednesday, Dec. 3, period 4 (we will eat 5th lunch)

 

MISC.

Seventh Period Sounds auditions are scheduled to take place Thursday, Dec. 3rd after school in the band room. Please see Mr. Schwaegler in C133 (the band room) after school for an information sheet and audition application. 7th Period Sounds will be presented on Monday, December 14th in the Auditorium.

 

The intramural basketball schedule is available at the bookstore. Games are scheduled to start December 9th.

 

We are looking for students who would like to help in the Share Joys shopping process. MHS students will meet families at Sears on Sunday, Dec. 6th to help the children of these families shop for clothes. To sign up, come to B201 right after school today. We can only accept the first 100 students who sign up, so get to B201 right after the 3:00 bell to reserve your spot!
