CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

Senior members only of the Academic Team should stop by E102 after school today at 3:05 for a brief meeting regarding team officers.  ALL Academic Team members (not just seniors) and anyone interested in joining the team should plan on attending an upcoming informational meeting after school on September 13th in E102.

There will be a Student Congress meeting Monday at 7:30 am in room E204. All students are welcome to attend and get involved with Student Congress.

Attention Line O' Type Staff: Editors and photographers will have their first meeting after school on Tuesday, August 30 in B206, Mrs. Norcross's room.  Please see me Mrs. Norcross if you are unable to attend.  Line O' Type reporters will have their first meeting Thursday, September 1 in B206.

Attention seniors - please check your school email for the Google form to nominate fellow classmates for Homecoming Court. Nominations will close this Friday and voting for King and Queen will take place next week.

Students:  You must have your current school ID for food service in the Cafeteria and to enter the Library.

The Chrome book charge station is now available in the Cafeteria 1st and 4th hour.

Picture day is fast approaching!  Pictures will be taken for 9th and 10th graders on Tuesday, August 30th and for 11th grade and Health classes on Wednesday, August 31st.  This will take place during the PE and Health classes.

COUNSELING CENTER

National Honor Society Members:  Please pick up a ballot in the Counseling Center to run for NHS officer or committee chair this year.  The deadline to turn ballots in to Mrs. Ryser is tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.  We will vote for the officers who turned in ballots at our mandatory meeting next Tuesday, August 30th at 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.

SPORTS

Any freshman or sophomore interested in running Cross Country this fall may still join the team.  We will be meeting at Wharton Field House at 3:35 pm.

The Dansworth Scholarship through Washington University is now open to graduating seniors.  Applications may be downloaded from the counseling website.  This scholarship has a due date of November 15, 2016.

Please check the lost and found items in the main office before you leave for the summer.  The items will be packed up after this Friday.

Just a reminder to students using elevator keys and clear backpacks, they must be returned to the clinic as soon as possible.

If you have medication in the clinic, please have a parent or guardian pick it up by the end of the school year. No medication is held over the summer.

Reminder to seniors: If you know what college you will be attending in the fall, stop by the registrar's office and sign for your final transcript, before the end of the school year.  All colleges require a final transcript, so failure to do this will cause unnecessary problems for you in the fall. Final transcripts can't be sent without your permission, so please see Mrs. Valdes in the Registrar's Office.

Attention freshmen: If you are not returning for the next school year, you need to return your Chromebooks, case, and chargers to the Help Desk on Friday before you leave.

Class ring distribution will be today in the auditorium lobby during period 4. If you ordered a class ring, you may pick it up at this time.

The Renewable Energy Science Workshop is tonight at 6:00 at the Moline Public Library.

Congratulations to Darius King and Marcellous Johnson of the boys track team. Darius qualified in the shot put and Marcellous qualified in the triple jump. Both of them will be competing this weekend at the state meet at Eastern Illinois University. Way to go!

Attention all freshmen, sophomores, and juniors: The Line O' Type is currently accepting applications for next year's newspaper staff.  We are looking for editors, assistant editors, reporters, and photographers.  Applications can be picked up in the Publications office on second floor B wing or in Mrs. Norcross's room in B206.  All applications are due today!  Be sure to get your application turned in to the Publications Office.  See Mrs. Norcross for further details.

The Gay Straight Alliance will have an end of the year bash in the library media center after school today. Bring your favorite snack to share.

For the 22nd consecutive year, Moline won the Western Big 6 Conference sweepstakes title.  Moline won conference titles in boys’ swimming, wrestling, baseball, softball, and girls’ soccer.  Congratulations!

Mrs. SantAmour’s Athletic PE class would like to congratulate Jamie Altizer for breaking the school record of 80 career goals for girls’ soccer.  Hard work pays off!
