Attention Line O’Type staff: Please report to B206 directly after school today to take our organizational photo for the yearbook.  The picture will be followed by a brief informational meeting for editors.  See Mrs. Norcross if you are unable to attend.

MHS Students and Faculty:  Come to the Share Joys Donut Eating Contest tomorrow, Wednesday, November 30th at 7:00 a.m. in the East Gym.  See Mr. McGuire and the Cardinals team take on Mr. Calhoun and the Cubs team.  Who will be the Top Banana and the Big Donut?  Who will be this year’s Donut King and Queen?  Come see the action tomorrow!

Donut Eating Teams:  Your pledge sheets and the amount raised for your team is due on Monday, November 28th the day we get back from Thanksgiving vacation.  Please bring your totals to Mrs. Ryser in the Counseling Center on the 28th.

SPORTS

Come watch the Boys Basketball Team in their kickoff scrimmage tonight at Wharton Field House.  The “Meet the Maroons” scrimmage is also the “Gatorade Game.”  Any donations of Gatorade or a sports drink for admission is appreciated.  The high school teams start by 6:30 PM.  Underclassmen start at 5:00 PM.  Come support the Maroons!

This Saturday in the East Gym will be the Maroon and White wrestling meet. Come and cheer on your Maroons as they compete for the final varsity spots on the team. Wrestling starts at 5 pm.

Share Joys tickets will go on sale in the bookstore Monday, November 28. Tickets are .50 each.

The Interact Club will have a short meeting after school today to have their picture taken for the yearbook.  Meet in J128 promptly after school.

Ping Pong Club will meet Friday after school in room J128.  Club pictures will be taken at this time.

National Honor Society members–The elf meeting is today at 3:00 p.m. in B131.

SPORTS

Attention to all students trying out for the NHS Talent Show:  Tryouts are tonight in the auditorium starting at 3:15.  Please be at your audition at least 15 minutes early.  Please have all music, costumes and scripts ready for the audition.  If you are not prepared, you will not be selected to perform.

The Gay Straight Alliance yearbook picture will be taken immediately after school today.  Don’t forget we have a guest speaker right after the picture.

Sports Unlimited will be meeting right after school today in the Cafeteria for a community service project activity.  Please plan on being there.  Sports Unlimited is by students, for students.  All are welcome.

There will not be a Kaleidoscript meeting today.

Today after school, the History Club will be hosting a Veterans Day assembly to honor local veterans.  The assembly will be at 3:10 in the auditorium where you can learn about our veterans and what they have done.  If you have a question you would like to ask a veteran, please drop it off in the box outside of Mr. Lamphier’s room, E214.  Please come and show your support for those who have served our country.

The next Student Congress meeting will be Monday, November 14th at 7:30 am in room E204.

Juniors and seniors will receive an email from Parchment to create an account and then you’re ready to start sending transcripts (you may need to check your spam folder).  This service will allow students to send unlimited transcripts to colleges free of charge.

TL applications are available to any junior or senior wanting to be a TL for the 2017 Natural Helpers retreat. Applications can be picked up in the Counseling Center. Applications are due to Mrs. Hoover no later than noon today.

Attention seniors:  If you did not get your picture taken at Photographic Arts, a photographer will be here on Wednesday, November 9th, from 8:00 until 12:30 in the auditorium.  If you will be getting your picture taken, you might want dress up a little more than usual.  Please make sure that you take advantage of this opportunity, as it is free and so you can also be in the 2017 “M.” We want all of our seniors to be a part of this memorable book.  Once again, Photographic Arts will be here on Wednesday until 12:30.
