Moline High School Driver Education

A Parent and Student’s Guide to MHS Driver Education

Attendance Policy Agreement

The Illinois Secretary of State requires that students enrolled in an approved Driver Education course must complete 30 clock hours of Classroom study and 6 clock hours of Behind the Wheel training. Because of these time requirements, students are limited to 5 days of absence per semester. No more than 3 days of the 5 total can be unexcused absences. If a student misses more than 5 days total or more than 3 days unexcused, the student will be dropped from the Driver Education class for the semester.

We ask that appointments such as dentist, doctor, vacations, etc. be arranged so the student will not miss more than 5 days.

We have read and understand the MHS Driver Education policy. Any questions regarding this policy, contact Kevin Gorgal, Department Chair, at 743-8785.
