A Parent and Student’s Guide to MHS Driver Education
About
In an attempt to make the Student Driving process easier we have created this site for parents and students. The goal of the Moline Driver Education Department is to prepare young men and women to be skillful, educated, and defensive drivers. We realize, for students and parents alike, that this time can be a stressful one. We highly encourage for parents and students to explore our website and discuss topics/ideas that can improve the student driving experience.
Again, our Driver Education course is designed to prepare students not only for the rigors of On-Street driving but to also develop responsible driving attitudes and behaviors. Our program consists of two sections: Classroom and Behind-The-Wheel driving. Students will receive a separate grade for each section. To ensure that your student excels in both Class and BTW, we recommend that students complete and turn in assignments, and that students are practicing their driving skills at home with a parent/guardian.
Students are required to complete 50 hours of practice driving at home with an adult (21 years of age or older, possessed a driver's license for at least 1 year, and approved by student's parent/guardian).
Of the 50 hours, 10 must be completed at nighttime.
