Parking lot

The Parking Lot is a communication tool between teacher and student, or presenter and audience.  It is an intentional space identified for feedback, often associated with the Plus/Delta chart.  The Parking Lot invites learners to make feedback, or ask questions that they do not wish to speak out loud.  It also allows the speaker an opportunity to receive questions and comments at a specific time without interrupting the presentation.

A section of the data center or a space in the classroom should be designated as the Parking Lot and sticky notes provided on which comments or questions may be written and applied directly to the Parking Lot.  The teacher/presenter must make time to read and address these notes in a timely fashion.

Advantages of the Parking Lot are anonymity of the writer, accessibility to the teacher, and student feedback that does not halt the flow of a lesson or presentation.
